Driver crashes vehicle after stereo distraction

WARREN – A local teenager who was tuned in to his truck’s stereo Christmas night ended up rolling his vehicle into a ditch on Route 131.

Matthew R. Lamb, 17, was distracted by the vehicle stereo system, according to a report filed by Knox County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Steven Burns.

Lamb, who was not injured in the accident, was traveling south on Route 131 when he became distracted by the stereo. He went off the left side of the road at 5:30 p.m. into a ditch, crossed a private driveway and rolled the truck onto the passenger’s side before it stopped.

The accident resulted in $3,000 damage to the truck, according to the report. Lamb was wearing a seat belt.
