City councilors of any town are supposed to be somewhat intelligent, have a degree of common sense and be well read on issues that will affect their town.
Let’s put that theory to the test for the city of Bangor. Each of the council members should be given the following assignment. They should all meet at the Bangor Public Library and seat themselves behind one of the many computer terminals. The assignment would be: 1) Go to the Bangor Daily News site and do a search on the name Shawn Scott. 2.) Do the same name search using the Google search engine. Pick out all of the articles having to do with Scott and racinos. Follow all of the links and print out each hit.
Now, create two stacks. One would be articles that would be considered good news about Scott and the other, bad news. Now, let’s have them vote again and see what the results are.
If the vote still supports the fantasy, my assumptions on intelligence, common sense and members being well read would be in error.
