By the deft wielding of his pen like a scalpel in his column, “Reforming pharmaceutical bad boys” (BDN, Sept. 16), Dr. Erik Steele has opened the shutters, blinds and drapes so the public can really get a good look at our pharmaceutical companies.
He also wisely warns us that we need these bad guys, too.
I would offer one little change to make his treatise more accurate: to change the word “lobby” to “bribe,” for this is what that nasty business is.
Perhaps I’m pessimistic. If so, it’s because at 80 years of age, I’ve already spent about a zillion dollars on prescriptions.
