Duffy-Stanley leads Katahdin past Hodgdon

HODGDON – K.C. Duffy-Stanley had a double and two singles Wednesday to help lead the Katahdin of Sherman Station softball team to a 14-7 win over Hodgdon.

Sara Charette had two singles and two RBIs while Lindsay Albert had a three-run double. Brandi Violette notched the complete-game victory.

Erin Foster hit two triples, Shanna McGary tripled and singled, Lindsay Steward had three singles, and Heather Martin doubled and singled. Amanda Fitzpatrick singled twice for Hodgdon.

At Woodland, Katie Stevens doubled in two runs to lead the Bulldogs to the win.

Megan Lord, Lacey Gillespie and Tiffany Wormell had a single each for the Dragons.

At Deer Isle, Hollan Oliver had a single, a triple and a home run to drive in five RBIs and pace the Mariner offense.

Meghan Wiberg sent home two runners with a triple and a double while Heather Bray had a home run, a double and four RBIs. Heather Hutch had a two-run homer while Shauna Schmit contributed with three singles.

Meghan Ruhlin led the Sumner effort with a double, two singles and three RBIs while Jessie Daley hit three singles and a solo home run. Rachel Robinson helped out with three singles, a triple and an RBI.

At Belfast, Morgan Crandall tossed a two-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts and two walks, complimented with three singles and an RBI at the plate as the Lions rolled.

Danielle Mayer hit a triple, two singles and knocked in a run for Belfast. Angela Marden singled twice and knocked in two runs, and Ashley Bryant singled.

Jessica York and Jenny Stevens had a single apiece for the Mustangs.

At Orono, Michelle Benoit scattered only three hits and two runs as the Red Riots prevailed.

At Hodgdon, Chris McAtee had two singles, including a two-run hit in the bottom of the sixth to score the winning run and lead the Hawks to the win.

Dale Foley hit an RBI single for the Hawks.

Chad Smith and Owen McCarthy each hit two singles for the Katahdin Cougars.

Darren Ripley had an RBI single for Woodland while Justin McCoubrey chipped in with a single.

At Deer Isle, Jay Huber scored on an error in the sixth to give the Tigers the winning edge.

Lance Scully plated A.J. Pinette with a two-out single in the seventh to close the door for Sumner of East Sullivan. Kyle Joy keyed a five-run fifth inning with an RBI single.

Joe Trundy slammed a seventh-inning solo homer for the Mariners. Nick Ciomei and Chris Gray each singled twice and drove in a run.

Jordan Allen and Brett Gerrish each had a single for the Penquis effort.

At Belfast, Paul Herman collected a single, double and an RBI for the victorious Lions.

Nick Faulkingham contributed a sacrifice fly for Belfast. Jesse Johnson had two singles, and Marcus Colby a single and a double.

Kenton Spaulding rapped a solo homer to go with a single for the Mustangs of Thorndike. Clifford Gardner, Aaron Lewis and Matt Surrow added two singles each.

Morse’s John Kotow tripled and scored on an error in the sixth.

At Millinocket, the Lynx of Lincoln scored all their runs in the first two innings to beat the rival Minutemen.

Tyler Libby singled twice and drove in two runs for Mattanawcook. Andy McKellan had two singles and an RBI, and Nathan Cousineau laced a double.

Anthony Arsenault hit an RBI double for Stearns. Matt Work added three singles, and Dave Michaud hit two singles.
