Full sentence fits crime

I am appalled that anyone would think that Sally Schofield’s sentence is “grossly disproportionate with other manslaughter cases” (BDN, Dec. 25). Why shouldn’t she serve at least a 20-year sentence for causing the death of this helpless, 5-year-old child?

So she led a “highly constructive” life and would be able to return to society and resume making reasonable contributions to it. I wonder what contributions little Logan Marr might have made had she not had her life taken away from her in such a horrible manner. I cannot imagine anything a 5-year-old child would do to justify such a horrendous punishment that ultimately led to her death.

Schofield should have to serve the full 20-year sentence for this dispiteous act. I am sure people are serving longer sentences for crimes less severe.
