CARRABASSETT VALLEY – After an intensive search, a game warden Sunday found the body of a 58-year-old hunter who was reported missing days earlier.
Lt. Pat Dorian of the Maine Warden Service said the body of Richard Bouvier of Kingfield was found in a remote area in western Maine’s mountains, about 3.5 miles from where he had left his vehicle.
A search was conducted Tuesday night and Wednesday after Bouvier was reported missing. He left home at about 7 a.m. Tuesday to go bird hunting.
After Bouvier’s four-wheel-drive vehicle was found Saturday afternoon, an intensive search was organized. It involved a helicopter, two planes, and 75 wardens and volunteers. The body was found with the help of a warden’s dog, Dorian said.
Bouvier appears to have died from exposure.
