Cascade Park events planned for Saturday

BANGOR – The 15th annual Cascade Park Celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the park on State Street. There is no fee for the celebration. Rain date is Sept. 8.

A duck for the annual duck race costs $3 and gives participants a chance to win prizes donated by Wal-Mart. All proceeds go toward next year’s celebration. The entertainment schedule is:

. 10 a.m., country band, Late Edition.

. 11 a.m., Maine-ly Music Barbershop Chorus.

. Noon, Queen City Big Band with Brian Nadeau.

. 1 p.m., Thomas School of Dance.

. 2 p.m., Sentimental Journey Band, jazz and swing.

. 3 p.m., Twin City Cloggers.

. 4 p.m., Bangor Band.

Other attractions include a bounce tent, games and face painting, pony rides, a climbing wall, food, and the Bangor Police Department D.A.R.E. program.

Free parking and shuttle bus service from the Wing Park parking lot, across from Eastern Maine Medical Center, are available.
