McLellan sixth-inning RBIs lift Lincoln

LINCOLN – Andy McLellan hit a two-run single to cap a four-run sixth inning as Lincoln nipped Houlton-Woodstock 6-5 Tuesday in American Legion action.

Scott Flannery hit an RBI double to tie it up earlier in the inning for the Lumber. Matt Malone whacked a solo homer in the third.

Kenny Campbell doubled and Caleb Palmer rapped two singles to spark Houlton-Woodstock. Scott Phillips contributed a pair of sacrifice flies for two RBIs.

At Ellsworth, Jason Harvey stroked a two-run homer to go with an RBI single, totaling three RBIs, as the Falcons dealt the Acadians their fourth straight loss, after starting 5-0.

Chris McHale launched a two-run triple for Brewer. Adam Sheehan singled twice and knocked in a run.

Ryan Hutchins sparked Trenton with two singles plus an RBI.

Waldo-Knox 6, Calais 0

At Thorndike, the Wildcats received some timely hitting with runners in scoring position in their win over Calais.

Nick Arthers had a double and an RBI and Pat Aylward and Jamie Potvin had a single and a run batted in apiece for Waldo-Knox.

James MacDonald had a double and a single and Jeff Doughety doubled for Calais.

Brewer 11, Belfast 2

At Heddericg Field in Brewer, Darren Stover scattered six hits while striking out four and not walking a batter to help Brewer gain the win.

James Strout doubled, singled and drove in three runs for the winners. Evan Stinston and Billy Kane each added a single and triple. Ryan Snell chipped in with three singles and two RBIs.

Rory O’Donnell singled twice for Belfast.

Blue Hill 17, Schoodic 3

At East Sullivan, Blue Hill scored eight runs in the first three innings to cruise to the victory.

Nick Henry singled twice for the winners and Craig Harvey tripled.

Ben Huber and Greg Ingalls each hit RBI singles for Schoodic.
