Internet system allows payment of traffic fines

AUGUSTA – The Maine Court System announced Thursday the start of a new service called “PayTixx” that will provide information and allow payment of traffic fines over the Internet with a credit card. The system, which already has been tested, allows users to view their violation records, verify a court date, pay outstanding fines online or get answers to frequently asked questions. All payment information is secure and no confidential information is stored by the system.

To use the new service, visit www.paytix.com. To use the payment system, drivers need their ticket number and driver’s license number or date of birth. Drivers may also pay by telephone by calling (866) PAY-TIXX.
