FORT KENT – The University of Maine at Fort Kent will offer weeklong French immersion camps in both Fort Kent and Madawaska for St. John Valley area pupils entering grades two through five.
One weeklong class session will be held at the Madawaska Elementary School beginning July 22. A second weeklong session will be held in Fort Kent on the UMFK campus starting Aug. 5.
Both sessions will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The camps allow children to learn and use the French language through fun activities such as arts and crafts, field trips, singalongs, and storytelling.
The camp also will provide an understanding of the St. John Valley in both the United States and Canada.
