BOOTHBAY HARBOR – March 5 is the deadline for high school juniors to apply for an annual science program at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences.
The lab, based in West Boothbay Harbor, offers the workshop to 16 Maine high school juniors.
This year’s program will run May 13-17.
The activities and field studies will be in a variety of marine environments. The program will focus on the chemical, physical and biological properties of the ocean as well as microscopic organisms common to the Gulf of Maine.
The lab provides room and board, as well as chaperones. There is no cost to students chosen.
