I applaud C. Robert Gridley’s letter (BDN, Dec. 20) apologizing for the years he worked to help collect pledges for Maine Public Radio, which has shamelessly betrayed its mission.
The ultimate betrayal occurred the evening of Dec. 19, when, in the midst of the magnificent Christmas performance of St. Olaf’s Choir, a truly religiously moving performance, there came an abrupt and shattering announcement, in classic radio commercial style, of the program to follow.
How totally lacking in understanding, in sensitivity, must a person be to order such a travesty? Obviously, MPR needs a change in top management.
