Pilsbury lifts Husson by UMF > Braves rally from nine-point halftime deficit to post fourth win

FARMINGTON – Robert Pilsbury popped in 24 points to lead the Husson College Braves to a 72-67 men’s basketball victory over the University of Maine-Farmington Beavers Wednesday night.

The Braves rallied from a 40-31 halftime deficit.

Tony Robb chipped in with 15 for the 4-2 Braves. Randy Fletcher had six rebounds. The Husson defense held the Beavers to just 27 second-half points, sealing the game.

Tom Nadeau scored 26 points for the 2-6 Beavers, including eight 3-pointers. Dan Orcutt netted 15, and Mike Fullerton grabbed 16 rebounds.

Maine Maritime 74, UMM 71

At Castine, Jon Newland threw in 23 points to help the Mariners edge the Clippers.

Corey Streams 14 points e for the winners. Pete Pitula chipped in with 13 points. All four of his field goals were three-pointers. Jed Johnson added 11.

Tony Heal led the Clippers with 18 points and four three-pointers. Albert Whitaker and Ken Ralph scored 14 each, and Josh Thornton popped in 12.

Liza Doughty and Katie Nye added 13 and 11 points each, respectively. Nye pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.

Becky Roak paced the 3-2 Beavers with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Jocelyn Sawyer also had 13 rebounds, to go with 13 points

At Castine, Rachel Merrill pumped in 22 points as the Mariners held off the Clippers.

Kate Lawlor added 16 points for Maine Maritime Academy. Stacey Ryan and Janey Lesiewicz contributed 12 points apiece.
