ELLSWORTH – The Chewonki Foundation and the Ellsworth Public Library will present a “Bats of the World” program.
The presentation will begin at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, in the Riverview Room of the Library.
The program is designed to ease people’s fears of these creatures and dispel the falsehoods about them.
Bats make up nearly one-fourth of the world’s approximately 4,000 species of mammals. The foundation’s Batmobile is designed to help people understand the distinctive nature of bats. It includes a slide show, specimens and live bats.
This is a program for all ages but children’s attendance will be limited to 35 and they must sign up at the circulation desk. Call Valerie at 667-6363 for information.
