Fairfield police probe theft of pickup truck

FAIRFIELD — Police are investigating the theft of a pickup truck from a Fairfield home sometime early Tuesday.

A Currier Road resident called police around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday to report his 1993 Ford F-150 was stolen.

The theft is believed to have occurred sometime after midnight. The owner told Officer Bryant LaVerdiere he had left the keys in the ignition.

State police Trooper Blaine Bronson recovered the truck alongside Unity Road in Albion around 8 a.m. Tuesday. It had been heavily damaged.

Detective Kelly Hooper said she has leads but declined to elaborate.
