PITTSFIELD — Sales revenue from a Maine mystery novel will benefit the Pittsfield Veterans Honor Roll Memorial Fund during the Central Maine Egg Festival on Aug. 22.
Chairman Arthur Dewey reported that 50 percent of the net profit derived Saturday at a Pittsfield veterans booth, from the sale of Horace P. Landy’s book, “Death Under Pines,” will be donated to the memorial fund to construct a World War II monument.
The 80-year-old Landry is a summer resident of Pittsfield and a World War II veteran. He will sign copies of his book during the all-day program.
