State Senate candidate plans Rockland cookout

ROCKLAND — Judy Powers, Democratic candidate for the state Senate in District 12, plans a kickoff cookout to introduce herself and her campaign committee.

Powers is a two-term House member who has been representing Camden and Rockport. She is running for the seat being vacated by Democrat Chellie Pingree, who must step down because of term limits.

Powers’ campaign is being managed by Kathleen Friedrich of Rockland.

The Committee to Elect Judy Powers invites the public to the North End Shipyard, Front Street, Rockland, from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 4, for a cookout and to meet Powers.

The shipyard is just north of the downtown on Route 1.

District 12 comprises Camden, Cushing, Friendship, Hope, Owls Head, Rockland, Rockport, St. George, South Thomaston, Thomaston, Union, Warren, Washington, and five islands, Criehaven, Isle au Haut, Matinicus, North Haven, and Vinalhaven.
