Caribou earns victory over Schenck 7-3

EAST MILLINOCKET – Caribou’s Jerry Shanahan and Dustin Selfridge each had a single and double to lead the Caribou Vikings to a 7-3 schoolboy baseball win over the Schenck Wolverines Friday.

Andrew Bouchard added two singles for Caribou.

Ryan O’Donnell paced Schenck with a single and a double; Adam Yeo and Paul Mark Dicentis both collected two singles, while Bobby Kalloch singled for two RBIs.

At Harrington, Brian Packwood and Toby Cole combined for three strikeouts and two walks in the one-hitter as George Stevens Academy cruised.

Cole had a triple and single for the Eagles of Blue Hill, while Travis Bannister singled twice for three RBIs.

Jessy Grover had Narraguagus’ lone hit, an RBI double.

Bradley and Steve Hardwick opened the inning with singles and moved up to third and second, respectively, on a wild pitch.

Jerid Hendrickson hit a two-run double in the seventh and later scored the tying run on a throwing error.

Bradley topped the Eagles with a double, two singles, and two RBIs, Patten posted three singles, and Hardwick added two singles.

Brad Thibeault led the Pioneers of St. Agatha with a double and single and two RBIs, and Todd Thibeault and Jacob Pelletier contributed two singles and two RBIs.

At Dexter, Dennis Glynn’s pinch-hit single drove in Drake Martell with the winning run, capping a four-run, seventh-inning rally for Piscataquis of Guilford.

Winning pitcher Martell had tied the game with a two-run double in the inning. He added an RBI single. Shane Overlock had two singles and an RBI and Josh Watson added a single and a sacrifice fly.

Brent Patterson’s triple and single and three RBIs led Dexter. Ryan Robichaud had an RBI double and Derek Sawyer had an RBI single.

At Bangor, Charlie Rollins hit a two-run double that tied the game for Valley in the sixth inning, then the Cavaliers scored the winning run in the seventh on an error.

Tyler Wilson singled twice for Bangor Chrisitan.

Jason Nadeau had four singles for Forest Hills. Randy Paradise smacked a home run and two singles, while Adam Williams and Bob Dubois each singled twice.

Alex Daigle led Madawaska with a double and a single. Ted McHenry had a two-run single.

Keely Sayers led the Tigers with a solo homer, double, single, and four RBIs; Jessica Ireland pounded out four singles and four RBIs; Melody Belanger added a triple, double, single, and two RBIs; and Barnes had a double, two singles, and three RBIs.

For the Hornets, Sarah Dwyer rapped a two-run homer, double and single, and had three RBIs; Leslie Bessey contributed a double, two singles, and an RBI; and Jen Levesque had three singles and an RBI.

At Belfast, Morgan Crandall tossed a no-hitter as the Lions tipped the Eagles of Newcastle.

Crandall’s day would have been perfect except for a second-inning walk. She struck out eight.

Belfast scored twice in the first inning without the benefit of a hit. Two errors and two sacrifice bunts led to runs by Ashley Bryant and Crandall.

Lindsey McFarland was also sharp for Lincoln Academy, giving up Bryant’s single in the third and Amber Billings’ single in the fourth. She struck out three and walked one.

Amanda Fields had a two-run single for Dexter.

See provided two other singles and two RBIs to her total, while Laura Keating had two singles, a double and two RBIs for Orono. Emily Reed chipped in with three singles and two RBIs and Kati Libby added a triple, two singles and two RBIs.

Sherri Zimmerman hit a two-run home run and doubled for the Ponies and Sandy Scott had three singles and two RBIs.

At Bangor, Rene Mick and Kara Hartman combined to one-hit the Cavaliers of Bingham.

Jami Theriault’s two-run triple off the fence to highlight an 11-run second inning that propelled the Patriots.

Theriault finished with two triples and a single; Mick added two triples; Lari Sobey contributed a triple and two doubles; Lisa Phinney and Gabby Eastman posted a double and two singles each; Merideth Moores had two doubles; and Danielle Miller had a double and single.

Sam Martin’s single was the only hit for Valley of Bingham.

At Jackman, Laura Hall hurled a two-hitter over five innings and Jessica Brady and Brandy Duplessis each drove in four runs to power Forest Hills of Jackman.

Hall struck out nine and walked one. Brady had a homer, triple and single and Duplessis doubled and singled. Sisters Lindsay Keiper and Jamie Keiper (double) each had two hits.

Diane Aucoin and Jessie Craft singled for Greenville.

At Old Town, Kelly White pitched a one-hitter and Bucksport bunched together five of its six hits in the fifth inning, including Annette Caswell’s tie-breaking base hit and Heather Pelletier’s two-run single, to remain unbeaten.

Elissa Gordon’s base hit and Jessica Taylor’s double set the stage for Caswell’s single, which broke the scoreless tie. White also singled in the inning before Pelletier gave her some insurance runs with her base hit.

White struck out four and walked two and the only hit off her was Jamie Higgins’ RBI single in the bottom of the fifth.
