Allen leads Colby past USM

SALEM, Mass. – Ken Allen scored 28 points, including the 1,000th of his career, to pace Colby of Waterville to a 66-52 victory over the University of Southern Maine in the consolation game of the Salem State tourney.

Pat Gallagher added 10 points for the White Mules.

Mike Fennessy scored 18 points for the University of Southern Maine of Gorham. Ryan Thomas and Corey Zimmerman contributed eight points each.

At Salem, Mass., Trish Ripton scored 25 points and was named the MVP after leading USM to the Salem State tourney title.

Plant provided 13 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Niki Dominiczak scored 12 points.

Simone Adams paced Savannah College of Art and Design (Ga.)with 17 points, while freshman Jocelyn Rollins netted 15.
