WINNECONNE, Wis. – University of Southern Maine senior Penny Osborne became the school’s first female cross country All-American Saturday when she finished 13th at the NCAA Division III national championships at Lake Breeze Golf Course.
Osborne, who ran for Mt. Blue High in Farmington, won the New England regional championship a week ago to earn her spot in the national meet.
She toured the 3.1-mile course in 17 minutes, 21.4 seconds. Rhaina Echols of the University of Chicago won the race in 16:46.2.
In all 213 runners competed in the race.
