I often wonder what makes newspaper editors laugh. Probably tops on their list are puns and double entendres in headlines. Next would have to be irony, things like the relationship between the article on BIA in Monday’s paper (“Three-way squeeze”) and the accompanying sidebar.
The article sites lower fares as one of the main reasons folks drive south to fly. Then, in the sidebar, one way identified to get a better fare out of BIA is to “fly into an airport that is a couple of hours away from your destination, and rent a car….” Maybe it is just easier and cheaper to do the driving in ones own car and on familiar roads.
