Harpswell death ruled an accidental drowning

HARPSWELL — The death of a 70-year-old Harpswell man whose body was found in the water on Great Island near his home was an accidental drowning, officials said Monday.

The state Medical Examiner’s Office released that determination following an autopsy on the body of Stephen Boyette.

The body of the retired Navy officer was found in the water Saturday afternoon.
