BANGOR — The Bangor Public Library will hold a Brown Bag Lunch Series in the lecture hall on Wednesdays at noon during July.
The theme for this summer’s series is “Summer, Authors, and You!” Four authors will be giving talks on their books. Anyone is welcome to attend, and people are encouraged to bring their lunch.
The authors and their books are:
July 7 — Diane Monroe Smith, author of “Fanny and Joshua,” a dual biography of Maine’s Civil War hero and his wife.
July 14 — Robert Klose, author of “Adopting Alyosha.” This true story is for anyone interested in foreign adoption, Russian culture or single parenthood.
July 21 — Beatrice Blake, author of “The New Key to Costa Rica.” Considered by The New York Times to be the best guidebook to Costa Rica, it also has the only green rating for lodging.
July 28 — Catherine Petroski, author of “A Bride’s Passage.” Based on a Maine bride’s 1855 honeymoon diary, this is a prize-winning biography of Susan Hathorn and her adventurous year at sea.
