The Republican Party has a well-qualified group of candidates who will be campaigning to be nominated for the presidency of the United States. It is amazing that so many people, including politicians, have decided to have a coronation for Gov. George W. Bush because he seems to have a political advantage.
I am a registered Republican but I will be voting for the candidate on the basis of what he or she stands for; not party affiliation or for political reasons.
The American way is, if you want to be president you must earn it to deserve it. How can we make an intelligent decision unless we have each candidate proclaim why he or she should be president?
I will go way out on a limb and predict that Dan Quayle will be a very strong candidate and will win the nomination if people will look at his attributes. Mickey McNeal Washburn
