AUGUSTA — Attorney General Andrew Ketterer announced Wednesday that his office had filed a lawsuit under the Unfair Trade Practices Act, the state’s primary consumer protection law, against Robert Burns of Auburn.
Burns is owner and operator of a home improvement business in Auburn. The complaint alleges that Burns engaged in deception with his customers, including misleading customers that federal financing is available for home improvement, misrepresenting that consumers are guaranteed the ability to obtain a home improvement loan, failing to complete the work he has contracted to perform, and performing inferior and shoddy workmanship.
