LEVANT — The town is preparing an application to be submitted to the state in January for a Community Development Block Grant housing program. If successful, $300,000 in federal funds would be awarded to the town to be used to upgrade eligible owner-occupied homes.
Grant funds may be used for improvements such as septic systems, wells, roofing, windows, steps, heating and electrical systems.
In order to receive the grant, the town is mailing out a survey to determine the needs of residents. Surveys also are available in the lobby of T.J.’s Market, the Corner Country Store, or the town office. Deadline for returning the completed surveys is Dec. 15.
