CALAIS — Police arrested a 39-year-old man on drug charges after a search of his Germain Street home.
Calais police Sgt. David Randall said Stephen McGouldrick of Calais was arrested Friday and charged with one count of aggravated trafficking in Schedule W drugs and one count of aggravated trafficking in Schedule Z drugs.
Schedule W drugs are prescription drugs and Schedule Z drugs refer to marijuana, the sergeant said.
Randall said the drug trafficking charges were aggravated because of weapons found in the home. Randall declined to identify the quantity of drugs seized pending further testing. He said the investigation is continuing and more charges may be filed, he said.
The sergeant said officers from the Calais Police Department and Maine State Police and agents of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency entered the home on a search warrant Friday afternoon.
