PRESQUE ISLE – Kiera Dorr scored one goal and assisted on the other two as the Husson College Braves beat the University of Maine-Presque Isle Owls 3-1 in women’s soccer action Wednesday.
Jennifer Bailey and Kate Calligan scored a goal each for the 4-6-1 Braves of Bangor. Caroline Kus notched an assist and goalie Nicole Steinhart made 11 saves on 21 shots.
Heather Von Oesen scored off a Michele Dufour feed for 8-4-1 UM-Presque Isle. Shannon Henthorn made 11 saves on 15 shots.
Bates 5, Bowdoin 2
At Brunswick, Kate O’Malley had two goals and Colleen McCrave added a goal and assist, as the Bobcats broke away for three second-half scores.
Amanda Waterhouse and Jolene Thurston scored for 6-5 Bates, as Julie Lundman tallied two assists and Katie Dodson and Val Rosenberg each had one. Susie Arnold made nine saves.
Caroline Chapin had two goals for 7-4-1 Bowdoin, with Kristen Doughty and Amy Trumbell each registering assists. Sarah Farmer made 12 saves.
