BANGOR — The American Legion will hold a parade at noon Sunday in conjunction with its state convention this weekend. The parade route will run from the Bangor Civic Center down Main Street as far as Davenport Park.
The grand marshal will be Gus Williams, national vice commander of the Legion. The 195th Army National Guard Band will be among the participants.
A bean dinner will be held 12:30-2:30 p.m. at the Cole Land Transportation Museum on Perry Road in honor of Maj. Gen. Charles W. Sweeney, who piloted the plane that dropped the bomb on Nagasaki in 1945, ending World War II.
