Penquis seniors take graduation roles

MILO — Penquis Valley High School Principal George Sincerbeaux announced honor parts for the Class of 1998. Valedictorian is Joe Deitz and salutatorian is Jason Lavigne. First honor essayist is Emily Boss and second honor essayist is Seth Barden.

Deitz is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Deitz of Atkinson. He has been active in Key Club, student council, National Honor Society, drama, math team, science fair and band. He will attend the University of Maine and study biology.

Lavigne is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Lavigne of Milo. He has been active in soccer, hockey and the National Honor Society. He will attend the University of Maine and study engineering.

Boss is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Boss of Brownville. She has been active in student council, band, jazz band, peer mediation, tennis, math team, National Honor Society and science fair. She will study neuroscience at Bowdoin College.

Barden is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Barden of Milo. He has been active in band, jazz band, Key Club, National Honor Society and drama. He will study computer science at the University of Maine at Farmington.

The Class of 1998 will graduate at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at the Penquis Valley High School gymnasium.
