Justice Breyer to speak at Colby commencement

WATERVILLE — U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen G. Breyer will be the featured speaker at Colby College’s commencement exercises, the college announced.

Breyer also will receive an honorary degree at the May 24 ceremony, college officials said Monday.

Breyer is the first U.S. Supreme Court justice to speak at the school since 1961, when Justice William O. Douglas addressed graduates.

The speech will be delivered on the lawn in front of Miller Library and is open to the public. Tickets will be required if inclement weather forces the ceremonies indoors.
