Mount View rallies to win

THORNDIKE – Rachel Cochrane and Naomi Gillette combined for 22 third-quarter points to rally the Mount View Mustangs to a 60-53 schoolgirl basketball win over the Winslow Black Raiders Tuesday night.

Cochrane led all scorers with 24 points, Gillette registered a double-double with 10 points and 17 rebounds, and Ellen Ward had 12 points.

Rachel Bard led the Black Raiders with 20 points, and Kristy Ferran and Maegan Gordon each tallied 12.

David Raczek also tallied twice, Tim Smith recorded a goal and three assists, Jesse Grant had a goal and an assist, and Jason Ashley and Keith Freeman scored a goal apiece.

Goalie Richard Lafrete stopped six shots for John Bapst, now 8-5.

For the 0-12 Black Bears from Readfield, goalie Justin Pepin made 34 saves on 44 shots.
