Streams 3-pointer gives Stearns 1-point win

BUCKSPORT – Corey Streams dribbled through three Bucksport defenders and hit a 3-pointer while falling down, lifting the Stearns Minutemen to a 53-52 boys basketball victory Friday.

Streams’ heroics, coming after a Stearns timeout, nullified a pair of clutch free throws by Bucksport’s Johnny Beck with three seconds remaining. Streams also made an NBA-range 3-pointer at the end of the first half to give the Minutemen of Millinocket a two-point edge.

Streams finished with 25 points.

Cam Giroux paced Bucksport with 22 points and nine rebounds.
