High school musicians to perform in Rockland

ROCKLAND — The Maine Music Educators District III Senior High Honors Festival that began Friday will culminate today with a 2 p.m. public concert at the Rockland District High School gym. More than 200 students from 20 schools are participating in the weekend event. Today’s concert will feature the 135-voice select chorus and 107-piece select band. Students are selected by auditions from the groups. Conductors are selected from New England high schools, colleges, universities and the military.

Participating school include: Mount Ararat High School, Monmouth Academy, Freeport High School, Wiscasset High School, Islesboro High School, Gardiner Area High School, Kents Hill High School, Oak Hill High School, Lisbon High School, Camden-Rockport High School, Georges Valley High School, Morse High School, Brunswick High School, Richmond High School, Medomak Valley High School, Lincoln Academy, Boothbay High School, Cony High School, Erskine Academy and Rockland District High School.
