Records: Maine 9-11-3 (6-9-2 Hockey East), UNH 18-4-1 (10-3-1)

Series: UM leads 35-25-3

Key players: Maine – RW Steve Kariya (17 goals & 18 assists), LW Shawn Wansborough (10 & 11), RW Cory Larose (6 & 13), D Adam Tate (0 & 10), D David Cullen (7 & 19), G Alfie Michaud (7-9-3, 3.74 goals-against average, .879 save percentage); New Hampshire – C Jason Krog (27 & 23), LW Tom Nolan (13 & 28), LW Derek Bekar (19 & 20), D Jayme Filipowicz (1 & 16), D Christian Bragnalo (1 & 11), G Sean Matile (18-4-1, 2.64, .913)

Outlook: UNH is in the midst of a five-game winning streak and coming off a 9-3 drubbing of Boston College on Tuesday before its 5-2 win over New Hampshire Friday. However, the Wildcats game against the Bears will be its third in six days. If the Bears have a chance to beat the Wildcats, it will be now. But beating fourth-ranked UNH won’t be easy considering Maine has managed only six goals in its last five games and has not won in five games.

MAINE women vs. RPI

Outlook: Hedges had four goals in Maine’s win and tie last weekend. Former Orono High School goalie Ryan Stone is RPI’s coach and has one of the nation’s leading goal scorers in Acropolis, the ECAC-Alliance Rookie of the Year last season when she scored 43 goals and had 27 assists in 24 games. Acampora had 73 points a year ago. Both were blanked in a 4-3 loss to Williams on Wednesday. Lorenz is among the nation’s top scorers. RPI’s power play is operating at more than 30 percent while Maine’s shorthanded units have allowed only one goal in 22 chances.

Pierce, who missed all of last season with Hodgkin’s disease, will be presented a plaque by the Maine team for her perseverance in battling the disease.
