HAMDPEN – Dustan Peet nailed a jumper with eight seconds left to give the Hampden Academy Broncos a 45-43 schoolgirl basketball victory over the Messalonskee Eagles Thursday night.
Peet led Hampden with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Amanda Rodgerson added 13 points.
Bonnie Smith scored a game-high 20 points for Messalonskee of Oakland.

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Nate Susi scored in overtime to give the Crusaders the win over the Eagles of Oakland.
Susi also notched two assists and Jason Ashley chipped in with a goal and two assists for the 6-4 winners. Tim Smith recorded a goal and an assist and goalie Dan Allen made 26 saves on 28 shots.
Ben Harris and Jeff Hague each scored a goal for 6-5-1 Messalonskee while Bryan Engert notched two assists and Mike Engert one. Goalie Ryan Radkey made 35 saves on 38 shots.
