Hospice volunteers to give training in Waterville area

WATERVILLE — Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area will offer training for people wishing to help individuals and families facing life-threatening illness. Volunteers will help provide companionship, transportation, assistance with errands, letter writing, reading or other forms of support.

Based in Waterville, the Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area also serve Albion, Belgrade, Belgrade Lakes, Benton, China, Fairfield, Fairfield Center, Freedom, Hinckley, Mercer, Mount Vernon, Oakland, Palermo, Rome, Shawmut, Sidney, Smithfield, South China, Thorndike, Unity, Vassalboro, Vienna and Winslow.

Training in the Waterville area begins March 2 and will continue on Mondays from 6-9 p.m. through May 4. There also will be a meeting from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 9.
