Congratulations on your printing of two articles in the Jan. 19 edition of the Bangor Daily News: Walter St. John’s Op-ed column on observing a Minority Peoples Day and the letter from Stephen J. Comando of Kingman about the Bath blood spillings aboard the U.S.S. Sullivan. If anyone should receive the Nobel Prize it would be Mrs. Sullivan and not the “bloody B-” brothers.
I met the Sullivan brothers and some of the Juneau survivors at a hospital in Fiji and Stephen Comando, you are correct, they fought for us and “formed a shield to defend our way of life.” E.C. Barnard Northport
