Help offered for training in mental health field

CARIBOU — The application deadline for the Vikers Education Fund is Feb. 16. The fund was created nine years ago to provide educational opportunities for people seeking advanced degrees in mental health, substance abuse services or speech and language therapy.

The fund is based on need and has a goal of financially assisting two Aroostook County individuals annually at the master’s degree or doctoral degree level in those specific fields of study. Assistance is based on a loan, part of which is repaid to the fund directly and part through commensurate services as an employee of AMHC. For more information, contact Kristine Bondeson at the Aroostook County Mental Health Center at 498-6431.
