NEWBURGH — Town Clerk Lois Libby said Monday that several deadlines are looming for Newburgh residents.
Dog licenses must be renewed by Saturday, Jan. 31, to avoid a $3 late fee.
Outstanding 1997 taxes must be paid by Jan. 31 as well. The names of those who miss the deadline will be listed in the town report.
Finally, the town meeting will be held Saturday, March 7, at 10 a.m. in the Newburgh Elementary School. The deadline for submitting articles for the meeting warrant is Sunday, Feb. 1.
The town office will be closed for the weekend Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, but Libby said the office will be open until 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30.
Libby also said roadside pickup of brush and small trees damaged by this month’s ice storm, originally scheduled for last Saturday, Jan. 24, has been postponed indefinitely. She said it may be a month or two before the pickup is rescheduled so that the wood can thaw enough to cut and dispose of it properly.
