MADAWASKA — A Madawaska businessman was elected Monday night to his sixth term as trustee of the Madawaska Water District at its annual meeting.
Normand Cyr, who is also Madawaska’s fire chief, has served four three-year terms and two years to finish another person’s three-year term. He was elected unopposed to another three-year term. Cyr is starting his 15th year on the three-person board of trustees.
Ronald Pelletier was moderator of the short, 20-minute meeting. Only 18 people attended the session.
Also accepted Monday night was the district’s annual financial report.
Superintendent Donald Chasse said Tuesday there were only a few minor questions on the district’s nearly $2 million renovation project. The project, which started in mid-1997, is expected to be done by May or June.
