Palmyra man injured in snowmobile accident

PALMYRA — Rodney Boutwell, 35, of Palmyra, was injured late Sunday night while riding a snowmobile at his home off Badgerboro Road.

Boutwell lost control of his sled about 11:30 p.m. when the sled became airborne at the foot of Boutwell’s driveway, according to Maine Game Warden John Whalen.

The sled crashed upon impact, tearing off the windshield and injuring Boutwell’s hand. Whalen did not know what type of sled was involved.

Boutwell was treated at Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield and released. Whalen said the sled was heavily damaged.
