A story in Saturday’s edition of the NEWS regarding hiring practices at the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department stated that a jail guard at the Somerset County Jail had a drunken driving conviction. The jail guard, Allen Roderick, 34, of Bingham, has no record in Somerset County. Another man, Allen Roderick, 45, residence unknown, does have a conviction. Sheriff Barry DeLong confirmed incorrectly that the 45-year-old Roderick was his employee. —-

The caption on the front page of Monday’s MaineDay incorrectly identified the child taking a picture of his father’s car after it was struck by a tree during the weekend storm. The child’s name was Matt Ouellette, not Curley.
