Steam accident at BNAS due to mechanical failure

BRUNSWICK — A steam accident that severely burned a civilian employee at the Brunswick Naval Air Station three months ago was caused by a mechanical failure, the U.S. Navy said.

The Navy declined to elaborate on the nature of the failure, and the reports of the accident investigation will not be released to the public, said John James, base director of public relations.
