Lewiston snowmobiler treated for cut

EASTON — A Lewiston snowmobiler was treated at a Presque Isle hospital Friday afternoon for a severe leg cut caused by a snowmobile running over his leg after he fell off his machine.

Lucien Clavette of Lewiston was treated at The Aroostook Medical Center and released.

Lt. Michael Marshal of the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife said Clavette was riding with four other snowmobilers from the Lewiston area about midafternoon Friday when he was tipped off his sled and run over by Thomas Therrien, 36, also of Lewiston.

When Clavette fell off his sled, the runner of a ski on Therrien’s snowmobile caused a severe cut on Clavette’s shin.

Clavette was second in the line of five snowmobilers traveling near the Ladner Road in Easton. Other than Therrien, none of the other sledders was involved in the incident.

The incident was investigated by Game Wardens Brian Kane and Dennis Wade.
