EASTPORT — The board of directors of the Maine Port Authority will hold its regular monthly meeting at 9:30 a.m. today at the Marine Technical Center in Eastport.
The authority — which was reactivated in October by Gov. Angus King to assist Maine’s Department of Transportation in dealing with port and rail related issues — is still getting organized, according to Brian Nutter, MDOT liaison to the authority.
Topics on the meeting’s agenda include a review of the revised mission statement, a review of the bylaws, and presentations on facility operations in the Washington County area.
The board is chaired by MDOT Commissioner John G. Melrose. Members of the board of directors include: David Cole, president of Eastern Maine Development Corp.; Perry Newman, director of Maine International Trade Center; Donna Fricke, director of graduate studies and research at Maine Maritime Academy; and Richard Ingalls, chairman of the Portland Harbor Commission.
