Conflict of interest forces revote on Dexter jobs

DEXTER — The Dexter Town Council approved a list of town appointments Thursday evening, but next month it plans to rescind the list because of an oversight.

The council, including Marsha Delaware, approved a list of appointments presented by Town Manager Bob Simpson. That list contained 14 names, including Delaware’s husband, Michael Delaware, as road commissioner and public works director.

Contacted Friday about the conflict that arises from Delaware approving her husband’s appointment, Simpson said it was an oversight on his and Delaware’s part.
