A.E. Robinson worker attacked outside store

DEXTER — A woman who works as a clerk for the A.E. Robinson Mobil station in Dexter was attacked by a masked man as she walked to her vehicle at the end of her shift Thursday evening.

The unidentified clerk had locked the door to the combination convenience and gasoline station at about 11:35 p.m. and was walking to her vehicle when a man jumped her, according to Dexter Police Chief David Clukey.

Clukey said the woman managed to get away but the man took her pocketbook. The woman wasn’t injured although she was shook up, he said. Clukey said it appeared that the man had been waiting for her to exit the store.

The attacker, whose face was covered by a ski mask, was described as approximately 6 feet tall.

Trooper Rod Charette of the Maine State Police, his police dog Cabot and deputies from the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene Thursday evening.
