White-tailed deer being stalked by dogs

AUGUSTA – Maine’s Fish and Wildlife Commission is urging pet owners to restrain their dogs, as domestic dogs have reportedly been chasing white-tailed deer throughout the state. Warden Pat Dorian said that dogs are taking advantage of the hard crust in their pursuit of the deer. It is illegal to allow dogs to roam free in Maine woods unless they are under the direct control of their owners.
