Piscataquis principal’s contract extended

GUILFORD — SAD 4 directors voted Wednesday to extend Bruce Lindberg’s contract through June 30, 2000.

The salary for Lindberg, principal at Piscataquis Community High School, will be set later after all the administrators have had their evaluations.

SAD 4 Superintendent Norman Higgins said directors were pleased with Lindberg’s performance this year.

Higgins reported Wednesday to directors that preliminary reports indicate SAD 4 will receive about $10,000 more in state subsidy this year, although the final figure won’t be known until much later in the year.

Directors learned that the district will be the site of the state American Field Service conference this year; that a national speaker on substance abuse will speak in SAD 4 on Feb. 10; that J. Duke Albanese, commissioner of education, will attend a public regional forum on education from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 5 at Guilford Primary School; and that the district will hold public forums on education on Feb. 23, March 9 and March 23.
